Purposeful education is the foundation for the specialized care we provide at Peritech Home Health. Any of our perinatal services always start with a comprehensive skilled assessment that provides a complete understanding of each individual condition, ensuring the proper plan for care.

Pre-term Labor

At Peritech Home Health, we begin by providing education for those experiencing early signs of labor, or pre-term labor, based on a comprehensive skilled assessment to ensure proper treatment for each individual.

High Blood Sugars (Management of Obstetrical Diabetes)

Providing proper care and treatment for Obstetrical Diabetes starts with a comprehensive skilled assessment to determine blood glucose, fetal kick counts and ketones, ultimately determining the correct regimen for diet, meal planning and insulin injections. Communication is a priority between physician, patient and Peritech’s nursing staff. Our program offers 24-hour availability, case management and weekly progress reports.

Clotting Disorders (Anti-Coagulation Program)

Treatment for clotting disorders starts with a comprehensive skilled assessment, education regarding diagnosis, signs and symptoms, and specific dosing guidelines. Compliance monitoring is provided throughout pregnancy along with phone contact for education, assessment, triaging as appropriate, 24-hour clinical support, case management, and weekly progress reports.

High Blood Pressure (Gestational Hypertension/Pre-Eclampsia Program)

Treatment for high blood pressure includes a comprehensive skilled assessment; education regarding diagnosis; initiation and set-up of automatic blood pressure cuff for self-monitoring; ongoing phone contact for assessment of blood pressure readings, signs & symptoms, activity level, fetal movement, and urine dipstick for protein per physician orders; 24-hour availability; case management; and weekly progress reports.

Severe Nausea & Vomiting (Management of Hyperemesis)

This condition may fall into one of two categories for treatment:

1. CONTINUOUS REGLAN INFUSION THERAPY

Reglan Infusion Therapy requires the patient to wear an ambulatory infusion pump which administers constant levels of Reglan along with demand doses as needed. The program includes a comprehensive skilled assessment, set-up, rental and management of the ambulatory pump, pump supplies, education regarding diagnosis, nutrition, nausea & vomiting, weight, hydration status, and ketonuria, the excretion of abnormally large amounts of ketone bodies in the urine, characteristic of diabetes mellitus, starvation, or other medical conditions, 24-hour clinical support and ongoing phone contact, case management and weekly progress reports

2. CONTINUOUS ZOFRAN INFUSION THERAPY

Zofran Infusion Therapy requires the patient to wear an ambulatory infusion pump which administers constant levels of Zofran along with demand doses as needed. The program includes a comprehensive skilled assessment; set-up, rental and management of the ambulatory pump; pump supplies; education regarding diagnosis, nutrition, nausea & vomiting, weight, hydration status, and ketonuria; 24-hour clinical support and ongoing phone contact; case management; and weekly progress reports.
